About Karam Evi DerneğiKaram Evi Derneği is a community innovation center designed for Syrian refugee youth in Reyhanli and Istanbul. It is a safe space where youth can grow with confidence, learn life skills, and think critically. Karam has three core and connected programs: Karam Families, Karam Studios, and Karam Scholars. About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and communicative Outreach Associate to join our team, and work primarily from Karam’s center in Hilal Camp Uzumdal, Hatay, Turkey. This role is crucial in engaging with students, encouraging their enrollment in studios, and fostering a welcoming and positive experience for our students. Additional Outreach Associate will support the needs assessment of the community in the camp, provide input to new directions and expansion of programs, and ensure their growth and success.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and anyone inquiring about the programs, responding to their questions, and providing information about Karam.
  • Reach out to potential students and families routinely to promote program enrollment and participation.
  • Work closely with Karam Program and Monitoring and Evaluation staff to understand the Hilal community’s needs.
  • Collaborate with the Student Management & Outreach Team at Karam House Reyhanli to facilitate student engagement, such as tracking attendance, managing registration for studios, and following up with students.
  • Assist mentors in managing students in our spaces.
  • Organize events and activities that enhance the Karam experience, and promote registration to our programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students and families, fostering a sense of belonging and community.


About You

To excel in this role, we believe you will need the following:

  • A Bachelor’s in communications, marketing, public relations, international relations, a related social science field,  or a combination of experience and training will be considered.
  • At least one year of experience working in a non-profit setting.
  • Fluency in Turkish and Arabic, English is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite (especially Google Sheets, Google Forms and Google Docs), Asana, Whatsapp Business, and other social media platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to engage with students and encourage their participation.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize work and driven to meet deadlines
  • Passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • The ability to listen to student feedback and contribute to program enhancement.
  • Strong ethics and reliability
  • Be authorized to work in Turkey
